Core Topics

Selected areas of analysis

The work focuses on the practical questions investors, developers, insurers and technology providers face when emerging infrastructure must become financeable.

Technology Risk

From Chemistry to Confidence

How technical performance is translated into evidence, contractual protections and investment confidence.

Risk

Technology Performance Insurance

Where insurance can support confidence, where it cannot, and what must already be true before risk transfer becomes credible.

Project Finance

Revenue Certainty

How revenue quality, counterparties and contractual structures determine whether projects become financeable.

Risk Allocation

Technology Risk Transfer

How warranties, insurance, ownership and contractual risk allocation influence investment confidence.

Investment Readiness

The Architecture of Confidence

A systems view of how evidence, contracts, insurance and counterparties reinforce one another.

Industry Dialogue

Conference Briefings and Executive Workshops

Decision-focused contributions for boards, investors, insurers, developers and industry audiences.

Recurring Themes

The questions behind the analysis

These themes recur because they sit at the heart of whether capital can proceed.

ConvergenceWhere must engineering, legal, insurance and capital perspectives align?
Research Philosophy

Independent thinking. Evidence before advocacy.

My work begins with a simple observation: technology alone does not create financeable infrastructure. Capital requires confidence, and confidence is built through evidence, risk allocation, contractual clarity and commercial alignment.

Rather than asking whether a technology works, I ask whether investors, lenders and insurers have enough evidence to commit capital. That difference changes every conversation.
Research Themes

The questions that drive my work.

Every article, presentation and advisory engagement begins with one objective: understanding what prevents technically credible projects from becoming investable infrastructure.

Bankability

How projects move from technical capability to investment confidence.

Risk Allocation

Clarifying which risks remain unstructured—and how they should be allocated.

Insurance

The evolving role of performance insurance, warranties and third-party validation.

Revenue Certainty

Why finance depends on predictable cash flows rather than optimistic assumptions.

Long-Duration Energy Storage

Independent analysis of VRFBs, emerging storage technologies and investment readiness.

Capital Structures

How contractual architecture influences lender and investor confidence.

The Missing Link

An independent research programme developing the frameworks required to make long-duration energy storage financeable at infrastructure scale.

The programme develops independent frameworks for evaluating technology validation, contractual architecture, insurance, revenue certainty and capital structure as one integrated bankability system.

The complete methodology is reserved for advisory engagements, institutional briefings and independent due diligence.
